Overview

Brightstone is a unique commercial real estate investment management platform established by a team of experienced real estate professionals along with Vanke, one of the world's largest real estate developers and service providers, to offer a new model for investors. Capital commitments from the firm's founding partners are used to pursue real estate investments across the return spectrum in high-quality assets in major markets globally. Utilizing Brightstone's capital to warehouse investments provides ready access to assets for third-party investors as well as speed and certainty for sellers and other counterparties. This model accommodates a wide range of property types, deal structures and hold periods and addresses investor requirements for transparency and alignment of interests. By leveraging the firm's unique structure and co-investments by the firm's founding partners, Brightstone offers ownership aligned with client objectives.

Team

Dennis Irvin is a Managing Director and founding partner of Brightstone. Mr. Irvin has a 30 year background in commercial real estate investment management, investment banking and advisory services for both public and private clients. Prior to founding Brightstone, Mr. Irvin served as President and CEO of Rockefeller Group Investment Management. Prior to The Rockefeller Group, Mr. Irvin held leadership and advisory roles with CIT Group, Cushman & Wakefield, J.P Morgan Securities and LaSalle Partners. Mr. Irvin received a B.A. in Public Policy and Economics from the University of Chicago.*

Douglas Lee is a Managing Director and founding partner of Brightstone. Mr. Lee has more than 25 years of experience in real estate, finance and private equity. Prior to founding Brightstone, Mr. Lee served as a Managing Director, Head of Capital Markets and Member of the Investment Committee for Metropolitan Real Estate, a $3.2 billion investment management firm. Prior to joining Metropolitan, Mr. Lee held leadership and advisory roles at UBS Investment Bank and Goldman Sachs. Mr. Lee received a B.A. in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.

John Rivard is a Managing Director and founding partner of Brightstone. Mr. Rivard has over 30 years of U.S. and international real estate investment experience. Prior to founding Brightstone, Mr. Rivard served as Senior Vice President, Managing Director and Head of Acquisitions and Investments for Rockefeller Group Investment Management. Prior to this position, Mr. Rivard held leadership and investment roles for Broadway Partners, O'Connor Capital Partners and the California State Teachers Retirement System. Mr. Rivard received a B.S. in Business from the University of Southern California, an M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley and a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law.

Conrad Chew is a Vice President of Brightstone. Mr. Chew is responsible for sourcing, underwriting and executing direct and entity-level investment opportunities as well as managing Brightstone's existing portfolio. Prior to joining Brightstone, Mr. Chew served in an investment role at DRA Advisors, focused on value-added acquisitions throughout the U.S. Prior to that, he served in an advisory role with the Transaction Real Estate Group at Ernst & Young. Mr. Chew received his M.S. in Real Estate Finance from the Schack Institute of Real Estate at New York University and a B.S. in Economics from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Harrison Harvey is a Vice President of Brightstone. Mr. Harvey is responsible for financial and tax reporting. Prior to joining Brightstone, Mr. Harvey served on the Finance team at HighBrook Investors jointly responsible for overseeing the firm's third party service providers including tax, accounting and compliance for the firm's real estate private equity funds. Prior to this role, Mr. Harvey served in accounting and fund administration roles at Indus Capital and Citigroup. Mr. Harvey is a CPA and earned his B.S. in Accounting and Finance at Lehigh University.

Edward Hull is an Associate of Brightstone. Mr. Hull is responsible for capital markets, investor relations and business development initiatives. In addition, Mr. Hull is responsible for sourcing, underwriting and executing direct and entity-level investment opportunities as well as managing Brightstone's existing portfolio. Prior to joining Brightstone, Mr. Hull served in capital markets roles at Metropolitan Real Estate (The Carlyle Group) and MatlinPatterson Asset Management. Mr. Hull received a B.S. in Economics from North Carolina State University.

Lee Cummings is an Associate of Brightstone. Mr. Cummings is responsible for sourcing, underwriting and executing direct and entity-level investment opportunities as well as managing Brightstone's existing portfolio. Prior to joining Brightstone, Mr. Cummings served in investment and asset management roles at DRA Advisors and Amstar Group. Mr. Cummings received a B.S. in Business Administration from Washington and Lee University.

Brightstone provides a broad range of investment management and advisory services through two primary entities, Brightstone Capital Partners and Brightstone Investment Advisors.

 

Brightstone Capital Partners is a real estate investment management and advisory services firm. The firm provides investment advisory and consultation services as well as investment management of real estate vehicles and private equity funds. Brightstone Capital Partners also provides capital markets and strategic advisory services, and raises debt and equity capital for others.

 

Brightstone Investment Advisors, a wholly owned subsidiary of Brightstone Capital Partners, is a registered investment advisor* that provides investment advisory and consultation services as well as investment and asset management of real estate vehicles and private equity funds, including underwriting, reporting, and investor relations. Brightstone Investment Advisors also raises debt and equity capital for others.
